"US" is Chris
Hopkins. I formed "your-own-page" in 2002 to provide cost effective Web
Design and Hosting specifically for small businesses,
sole traders, organisations and charities, concentrating on people who would like a web presence but
don't have the skills to do it themselves.
I did a degree in Engineering Science at Exeter
University followed by research in Computer Control.

I then spent 28 years in the
telecommunications industry working for one of the leading UK telecomms
equipment manufacturers. I have experience in Hardware Design, System
Design, International Standards, Electronic Publishing, Marketing, Web
Specification and Web Design. |

More recently I have completed a Further Adult
Education Teaching Certificate and have taught IT courses at Poole and
Bournemouth College and for Poole Adult Learning. I also have the EDCL
qualification. I provide One-to-One training courses for businesses.
During my five years experience of working
within the Web Specification, Design and Management team we became aware
of what constitutes good and bad web design, having to maintain the
